Biosketch
Steve Kahle is a Senior Principal Engineer leading a team focused on advanced sonar design, development and test. A specialist in embedded systems design, Steve has been awarded patents in fields as diverse as estimating state-of-charge for large lead-acid batteries used in vehicles and data caching strategies for improving computer performance. Prior to joining APL, Steve had more than 20 years of experiences as the Principal Engineer responsible for driving ideas into production for companies with annual revenues up to $450M. Steve joined the Laboratory's Environmental and Information Systems Department in 2013 after consulting for the Lab for several years.
